Brytavious Lakeith Chambers (born September 20, 1996), professionally known as Tay Keith, is an American record producer recognized for his significant impact on modern hip-hop music. He rose to prominence for co-producing Travis Scott’s 2018 hit single “Sicko Mode,” which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
In addition to that success, Tay Keith has produced several major tracks, including Drake’s “Nonstop,” BlocBoy JB’s “Look Alive,” and Eminem’s “Not Alike,” all of which performed strongly on the charts. In 2023, he expanded his presence as an artist with the release of “Pound Town” alongside Sexyy Red, marking his first appearance on the Billboard charts as a lead performer.
Tay Keith graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, earning his bachelor’s degree in December 2018. His work on “Sicko Mode” also earned him a nomination for Best Rap Song at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. He is signed to a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and is affiliated with BMI.
Born in South Memphis, Tennessee, Keith developed an interest in music at a young age. Around the age of fourteen, he began producing beats and sharing his work on platforms like YouTube and DatPiff. He also practiced by recreating popular songs using his piano, including Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop.”
During his early years, he met rapper BlocBoy JB after moving to East Memphis. The two quickly formed a creative partnership and began making music together, laying the foundation for Keith’s future success.
By 2015, Tay Keith was already gaining experience in the industry, working with artists like Blac Youngsta on projects such as the mixtape “Fuck Everybody.” His breakthrough came in 2018, when his production work on multiple hit songs propelled him into mainstream recognition and established him as one of the most sought-after producers in hip-hop.
